MS. PEARLIE THOMAS

May 13, 1956 - April 24, 2022

Funeral service for Ms. Pearlie Ann Thomas will be held at 2 PM Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Bogue Homa Gym with Deacon Curtis Willis, Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Bogue Homa Community Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 AM Friday, April 29, 2022 at the home of Jennifer Thomas, 26 Dool Road Heidelberg, MS. John E. Stephens Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Ms. Thomas, 65, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg, MS. She served two terms on the MS Band of Choctaw Indians Tribal Council from 1991-1999. She helps USM with pow wows, pageant contests and enjoyed making dresses, beadwork, cooking and attending ballgames to watch her grandchildren. In 2021, her basket weaving was televised. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carmen Thomas; parents, Ruben James Shoemake and Janie Denson; son, Gorman Thomas; granddaughter, J’cee Mae Thomas; sisters, Jeanell Anderson and Anita Anderson; brothers, Therman Shoemake and Charles Shoemake. Survivors include her daughters, Jennifer Thomas, Vita Johnson, Tina Thomas; sisters, Eleanor Chickaway and Norma Hall; 13 grandchildren; a lot of furbabies. She was also a foster parent to many children.
