MR. MAC THORNTON

August 13, 1938 - February 26, 2022

Funeral service for Mr. Mac Thornton will be held 11 AM Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. Wayne Hill and Rev. Kevin Vaughn officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-11 AM Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at John E. Stephens Chapel. Mr. Thornton, 83, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022, in Meridian, MS. He lived most of his life in Neshoba Co. He was in the United States Airforce and a Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of Beacon Street Baptist Church and was a Mason. His hobbies were spending time with his grandchildren and friends and working. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Thornton; parents, Lee Houston Thornton and Hattie Husband Thornton; sister, Bernice McMahon; brothers, Earl and Ray Thornton. Survivors include his; sons, Todd Thornton of Cullman, AL, and Brent Thornton (Heather) of Hazlehurst, MS; daughter, Martie Vaughn (Kevin) of Philadelphia, MS (9) grandchildren; (9) great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers: Larry Nichols, Ellis Dunn, Pierce Thornton, Brewer Vaughn, Johnny Waddell, William Thornton.
