MRS. MARSHA JEAN JIM

Funeral service for Mrs. Marsha Jean Bartholomew Jim will be held at 10 AM Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Bogue Chitto Baptist Church with Bro. Doby Henry and Bro. Kendall Wallace officiating. Interment will be in Isleep Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 PM Friday, August 8, 2025 at Bogue Chitto Baptist Church. John E. Stephens Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Bartholomew Jim, 71, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025, at her home in Choctaw, MS. She was born to late Dr. Brian Bartholomew and Christina “Chris” Emmett Bartholomew on September 29, 1953, in Circleville, Kansas. She was a member of the Kickapoo Tribe in Kansas. She was a graduate of West Platte High School and Haskell Indian Junior College. She married to Mr. Roy W. Jim of Philadelphia, MS on October 29, 1973, and they had 2 sons, Ryan and Joseph “Rusty” Jim. She lived in Weston, MO until age 20 and moved to Oklahoma soon after, where she worked as a dental assistant at Broken Bow and Talihina. Mrs. Jim became a resident of Bogue Chitto Community in Philadelphia, MS and began her career in the surveillance department at Pearl River Resort until she retired. She spent her last years in the Pearl River Community in Choctaw, MS. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking and baking, scrolling through Facebook, and watching reality TV shows and NFL games. She was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs football team and Kansas City Royals baseball team. Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Brian Bartholomew and Christina Emmett Bartholomew; her grandparents, Chris and Cordelia (Simon) Emmett; her brothers, Bruce W. Bartholomew, Colonel Lee Roy Barnes Jr. (US Army); and a nephew, PFC Colby M. Farnan (US Army). Survivors include her sons, Ryan and Joseph (Rusty) Jim; her sisters, Denise Amos, Deann (Patrick) Farnan, Leah (Joe) Rector; a brother, Brian (Carolyn) Bartholomew; her grandchildren, Megan, Jacob, Afton, Andre’as, Aison, Haisley, Brixton, and Briella Jim; 2 great-grandchildren, Maverick and Jensen Jim; and a life-long friend, Roy Jim. Pallbearers are Nehemia Jim, Karady Chickaway, Gerald Stoliby, Sylvester Samuel, Mark Samuel, Norman Douglas Samuel, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are all great-nephews, Brian Davis, Mack Jimmie, Jr., Gabriel Chickaway.
