Funeral services for Ms. Edna Earl Morgan will be held at 11 AM Thursday, June 26, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Florence with Rev. Danny Dickerson officiating. Visitation will be 10 AM – 11 AM Thursday, June 26, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Florence. Interment will be at 3 PM Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Longino Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Edna Green Morgan, age 95 years of Richland, Mississippi, passed away on June 20, 2025, at her home at Plainview Assisted Living. She was born August 10, 1929, in Philadelphia, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Earl L. Green and Edna Luke Green. She was valedictorian of her high school in Philadelphia and obtained a certificate in business school in Jackson after graduation. She served the Lord in her communities and churches wherever she lived. She always said that as soon as you move into a new area, you find a church and begin to work there. She taught young children in Sunday School and led girls in GA’s. Serving the Lord alongside her husband, Jack, was one of her greatest joys. Prior to her membership of First Baptist Church, Florence, Ms., she was a member of Crestview Baptist Church of Brandon, Madden Baptist Church of Madden, First Baptist Church of Clinton, VanWinkle Baptist Church of Jackson, Oak Forest Baptist Church of Jackson, where they were charter members, Parkway Baptist Church, Greenville, Longino Baptist Church of Philadelphia where she made her profession of faith in Jesus Christ. Mrs. Morgan retired after working for First Federal Savings and Loan and various agencies and positions of the Federal Government for 20 years, including the Soil and Conservation Service and the Small Business Administration. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 75 years, Jack Morgan, her parents, and her brothers, Virgil A. Green and LaVern Green. Mrs. Morgan is survived by her two daughters, Dolores Morgan May (Jim) and Deborah Morgan Beacham (Walton), granddaughter, Melissa May Martin (Scott), their six children (Tyler Gayden Stringer, Victoria Kathleen Stringer, Nolan James Martin, Jessica Martin, Jordan Martin, and Logan Martin, two great-great grandsons Sawyer James Stringer and Lee Morgan Stringer; Granddaughter Veryan Kahn (Emron) and grandson, Layth Kahn; nieces, nephews, and her beloved sisters-in-law, Lillian Green and Nell Green, other family members and friends. She and Jack shared many hobbies in their life together: photography, golfing, training and showing their German Shepherd dogs to top titles, organic gardening, flower gardening, and starting a cattle business of the Limousine breed after their retirement. She was a great inspiration and Christian example to so many, especially her daughters and always Jack’s cheerleader. Always ready to tackle a project, Mrs. Morgan was admired for her tenacity, good spirit, and “can do” attitude in everything she set out to do. She said she and Jack had been able to do everything they wanted to do in this life. She was an inspiration to her family and expressed her boundless energy and love to them throughout her life.
